What is Evidence Locker?
Idaho4Archives brings documents, videos, photographs, audio, news, and commentary into a searchable source library. Each record keeps its own title, identifier, context, and link to the original material.
How to use it
- Browse a collection. Documents are organized by recorded agency or source and document type. Videos offer recording categories and explicitly attributed interviewees. Photos include image categories and related sets where the records establish a connection.
- Search the archive. Search checks record metadata and available transcript text. Use a name, phrase, place, or source; multiple words narrow the matches. Not every source has a transcript.
- Open a record. Read its overview, evidence references, and reliability notes. Follow the source link to inspect the original. Some originals remain on external services and depend on their access settings.
Read sources in context
Source documents, creator commentary, and uncertain attributions have different evidentiary weight. Inclusion does not authenticate a source or establish an allegation. Collection names may describe the folder a file came from rather than its author. Automated text extractions should be checked against the original document.
People listed in source context may be mentioned rather than participating in a recording. The Videos interviewee filter uses explicit interview attribution, not incidental mentions.
